Science Camp
Science Camp With Pali Institute
Let's face it. Everything that your kids learn is not in a traditional classroom, especially when it comes to science. Science is not in the confines of a house but it is outdoors and all around us in the earth that we live in. This is why we encourage all parents to consider sending their kids to science camp. With an innovative curriculum and carefully planned hands-on coursework right in the heart of nature, children will love learning.
Science Camp Options
What was your science class like? Not all children learn the same, and not everyone learns by the same methods. Some are visual learners, some are audible learners, and some are simply hands-on. Our science camp will prove this to you when you allow your children to explore the world of science through nature. Students will learn through archeology, dissections, rocket launching, and more!
Squid Dissections and Frog Hunt
Students will get the chance to make a "new creation" so to speak during the session known as "Kraken Squid Open". While dissecting a squid they will have the chance to locate organs and identify their appendages as well. By comparing the squid's physical structure to human physical structure these students will clearly see that there is a dramatic difference, and they will be able to appreciate their own appendages!
Students may also take advantage of a frog hunting class that is seasonal through science camp. Touching frogs and spending time around them will teach students more about how they contribute to our world. The Nature Center is a great place to start, giving students access to a plethora of creatures to study. Using games that get students to emulate what lizards do will show them more about these creatures work as well, and get them actively involved in understanding how these creatures live and thrive.
Energy and Aerodynamics
Can you imagine what children will learn when they study energy and aerodynamics in science camp? With challenges on using renewable energy during the 21st century and the mystique that still surrounds flying, students can choose their journey. Should weather conditions permit, there is a baking session using a solar powered oven, and those who wish to learn more about flying can participate in a rocket launch!
Archeology and Geology
Exploring the San Bernardino Mountains will give students a chance to learn more about the clues that past civilizations have left behind, leaving them much to explore and learn about archeology. With geology and engineering as an option for science camp, students will learn from studying the rocks from Southern California. The clues that these rocks leave them, and studying the activity of tectonic plates, gives students a taste of what the earth is capable of.
Freshwater Biology and Water Quality
Water is everything and our bodies crave it. Students will learn more about how to conserve water, and how it affects every aspect of our planet. Students will also learn how the microorganisms of the Earth affect our water quality and will learn the methods by which we test it to ensure that our water is safe.
CSI Pali and Zero Gravity
If your young student has an interest in Forensics, they will surely love this class. Students will get to take fingerprints, analyze various types of evidence and much more. Zero Gravity? Bungee jumping is a lot of fun when using it to learn about science. Students will bungee jump at about two stories to learn about gravity and motion.
Science camp has never been more fun than it is at Pali Institute.
6th Grade Camp
Educators know that the beginning of junior high school is when students really start to learn. This is why it is crucial to assure that they experiencing a complete education that exposes them to a variety of disciplines.
