On-Campus Program

Elevate your field trip experience with Pali Institute! Our on-site program is designed for students in 4th through 12th grade, learn more about what sets us apart.

Our Science-Based Curriculum

Pali Institute provides hands-on field-based activities that bring classroom science to life. With a fun and educational science camp feel in a natural California mountain environment, we introduce students to numerous scientific disciplines through rocket launches, squid dissection, weather experiments and crime scene investigation! Students engage with enthusiasm and exit from Pali with knowledge retained to take their study of science to the next level.

Our science curriculum has a STEM/STEAM focus as well as being aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Plan your Winter/Spring enrichment around our Covid Knowledge Recovery Programs or Advanced Leadership and Teambuilding.

Bring the club or team to our program to take advantage of teambuilding and leadership curriculum. Most schools choose to participate in the ropes courses regardless of trip goals. It’s a great opportunity for students to challenge themselves on the trip!

Facility & Overnight Accommodations

You and your students will be amazed by what camping looks like at Pali! Our comfortable mountain cabins feature solid wood built-in bunks, radiant floor heating, and private bathroom and shower facilities located inside the cabin. Each cabin is supervised by one of our qualified staff members. Visiting teachers stay in our semi-private accommodations with access to a teacher’s lounge complete with computers, Wi-Fi and satellite television.

Not to mention the rest of the facility! Pali sits on 274 acres in the San Bernardino National Forest. Our facility is home to 5 challenge courses, 3 zip lines, 5 archery ranges, basketball courts, a recreation field and over 5 miles of hiking trails.

Students dine in Huckleberry Hall, with buffet-style meals prepared by our executive chef and wonderful kitchen staff. We create kid-friendly and delicious meals three times a day so even the pickiest eaters will be satisfied. Our facility is nut-free and vegetarian options are available on request.

Pali Staffing for Overnight Student Trips

Our highly trained outdoor education staff provides around the clock supervision and instruction, allowing teachers to relax, observe and engage with their students in educational activities. Our instructors have or are pursuing bachelor’s degrees and possess a variety of science and teaching credentials. Our staff must complete a rigorous two-week training before beginning work at Pali and all instructors hold current certifications in CPR & First Aid and Ropes Course Facilitation.

In addition to our instructional staff, we have a full leadership team. This includes staff overseeing logistics and planning, student coordinators who can assist with discipline and any student issues, as well as a medical team that includes a nurse on duty and available from 7:00am -10:00pm during your trip. With Pali’s highly qualified team in place, your students will be safely cared for while discovering the wonders of experiential education.

We look forward to you joining us for your trip!

Groups may attend Pali Institute several years in a row with a different experience each time! Connect with our team to learn about our progressive program designed for returning students.

Older students can also extend their learning through Pali Outback, a 3 day/2 night backpack hike into the wilderness. Modules build on and extend the lessons learned in prior Pali trips.
