Pali’s History

The “Pali” in Pali Institute comes from the nickname for Pacific Palisades, a suburb of Los Angeles, California. It’s where our entrepreneurial founder, Andy Wexler, began the Pali family of companies.

The very first “Pali Camp” was a summer day camp run by Andy and his team in 1990. With his day camp success, Andy purchased a 74-acre site in the mountains previously known as Camp O-Ongo. Later acquisitions let Pali grow to 250 acres of lush and unspoiled forest, crisscrossed with hiking trails.

Pali Institute is the natural evolution of summer camp into out-of-school experiential learning. Pali Institute provides 1 – 5 day customizable overnight education programs for grades 3 – 12. Choose programs in three broad categories: Outdoor Education, Science and Leadership.
