Our Outlook for the Future

Pali Institute students climb ropes course structure

Dear Pali Institute Parent, Teacher and guest:

By this time, we are all well aware of the immense impact COVID-19 has had on our schools, homes, states and the world. As we move toward recovering from these desperate times, we are all making changes to bring normal life back while maintaining new habits to stay safe. The safety of students while here at Pali is of paramount importance to us. That said, we have a great number of precautions as well as already set habits in place to keep Pali a safe and clean environment.

As of the start of program we will be taking the standard precautions with any student presenting any cold or flu symptoms, including treatment and monitoring from one of our nurses and an isolation room in our wellness center. While the students are here, there may be more than one school present but there is little to no interaction between schools. This means that the students your child will be attending school with every day will be the same students they are with at camp. They have their own instructors, cabins, spaces in the dining hall, and class spaces. There are hand sanitizing stations throughout every building and hand washing is encouraged constantly during the day and required before meals.

One of the benefits of Pali Institute is that our 200+ acre facility allows guests to spend their entire trip outside if they would like. With outdoor activity spaces, hiking trails and our two covered pavilions, we have ample space for all outdoor activities.

We will be keeping a close eye on CDC guidelines and following every one of them, including the wearing of masks for all those on property when social distancing can’t occur. We have changed the layout of parts of the program to limit student interactions and uphold a number of new precautions. Every cabin and classroom is sanitized daily and deep cleaned after each use. The Huckleberry Hall, which serves as our dining hall and main meeting space, is cleaned and sanitized 3 times daily. These are just a few examples of the many actions we are taking to ensure a safe visit for every guest, we will adapt and add precautions as things evolve.

As mentioned, we are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to work with the Health Department and Center for Disease Control recommendations to keep Pali a safe space for our children and guests. We are taking bookings for January 2021 and beyond at this time and we plan to fully open as soon as it is recommended that we can safely do so.

Thank You,
Pali Institute Team
